The National Council of Nonprofits is the nation’s largest nonprofit network, with 25,000-plus organizational members, including state-wide nonprofit associations in most states. They support the sector by identify emerging trends, sharing proven practices, and promoting solutions that benefit charitable nonprofits and their communities.
The 2018 tax law has many impacts on nonprofits, both direct and indirect. As the National Council noted, “The law contains sweeping changes that create immediate uncertainty about compliance challenges and certain new threats as states and localities scramble to change their own tax laws and spending plans in ways that could impact your nonprofit’s mission.”
The National Council of Nonprofits hosted a special nationwide webinar, Now What: How the New Federal Tax Law Impacts Charitable Nonprofits in early January to share what operational changes nonprofits may need to make right away, what nonprofit leaders need to know about state and local policy changes, and other items that will affect nonprofits and the people they serve.
Tap into the National Council’s wealth of online materials: the webinar recording, a checklist of what’s changed and an analysis of the new bill. They’re also compiled articles and resources from other organizations supporting nonprofits.
