Refirement Network helps organisations and individuals 50+ understand alternative options to traditional retirement.
“Don’t retire. Refire!” is the message behind the Refirement Network. Founded by South African social entrepreneur, Lynda Smith, an experienced businesswoman, wisdom preserver and connection specialist.
The Refirement Network believes that modern life affords many options to traditional retirement and the second half of life can provide financial reward, intellectual stimulation, flexibility and freedom, emotional fulfilment and overall wellbeing. The Refirement Network offers resources for individuals at 50+ and for organizations to help their employees plan for the second half of life. The resources present alternatives to traditional retirement such as coaching, volunteer work, starting a second career and starting a business, travel and learning new skills.
Workshops for corporates on handling an aging workforce, coaching options for groups of individuals, access to “refirement communities” and an online skills bank are just some of the resources available through the Refirement Network.
With over 2 million skilled people in South Africa over 60, Lynda Smith aims to transform the face of employment in South Africa. Her programs promote the opportunity for these skilled people to use their time, passion and skills to work or volunteer to help build the South African economy.
