Colorado continues to be a leader in realizing the longevity dividend, engaging encore talent in a new Fellowship and promoting older adults’ value to employers.

Network member Boomers Leading Change just announced its new Experience EngAGEd Fellowship program for adults 50+. Funded by the Next Fifty Initiative, a Colorado-based private foundation supporting innovative initiatives that improve the lives of older adults and their caregivers, the program will recruit at least 30 Fellows for its 2019 – 2020 cohort. Those Fellows will support nonprofits working on food security, aging in place and healthcare access. Experience EngAGEd will provide training, monthly peer learning, mentorship and a $2,400 stipend. Time commitments range from 10 to 20 hours per week over a one year period.

On the employment front, the Colorado Workforce Development Council is partnering with the Colorado Business Round Table (BRT) to highlight the value of adults 55+. If you’re involved with workforce issues, this BRT interview offers valuable insights. Participants include Phil Nash, Boomers Leading Change Executive Director and newly-appointed Workforce Development Council member, Britta Blodgett, Senior Communications Strategist for the Colorado Workforce Development Council and Karen Brown, past chair and current member of the Strategic Action Planning Group on Aging.
