The Kauffman Foundation estimates that one in five new entrepreneurs are between 55 to 64 years old. However, older founders receive significantly less venture funding and they are currently underrepresented in startup incubators and education programs. At the same time, there may be a lack of awareness regarding the entrepreneurship programs and services offered by Encore Network members and other organizations that serve older adults. Â
Since members of The Encore Network have expressed interest in programming and services for older entrepreneurs, we are holding a members-only conversation on June 27 to share information, discuss the challenges facing older entrepreneurs, and explore opportunities for collaboration and enhanced support.Â
