The Age-Friendly Ecosystem and How it Connects to the Encore Network
June 23 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT
“Age-friendly” describes a growing number of initiatives designed to change the way our communities and institutions address the interests of older adults. Age-friendly frameworks have been developed to guide how cities, towns, states, employers, universities, health care systems, and public health systems plan and then act to address how to support residents of all ages. More than 600 communities across the U.S. have joined AARP’s Age-Friendly Network. This growing ecosystem intersects directly with the Encore Network’s mission. The better we understand the Age-Friendly ecosystem, the more deeply we can contribute to and benefit from its growth and impact.
Join Jody Shue, Executive Director of the Age-Friendly Institute, on Thursday June 23, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. ET to learn how the Encore Network connects to the age-friendly ecosystem. The institute is situated at the crossroads of the age-friendly ecosystem and is working with partners to develop a shared language that describes what it means to be age-friendly in all settings and to provide a framework for cross-sector collaboration and measurable impact. Also, under the operation of the Institute is the Certified Age Friendly Employer initiative and AgeFriendly.org, an online platform that gives consumers an opportunity to rate and review all things age-friendly.
