Paul Weiss, St. Louis MO
President, The OASIS Institute

Paul came to The Oasis Institute in June 2017 to serve as the third president in the organization’s 35-year-history. He has spent his career helping mission-based education and fitness nonprofit organizations exceed their strategic objectives, enabling them to help more people improve the quality of their lives. A native St. Louisan, Paul holds a PhD in Educational Research and Psychology from Washington University and has more than 20 years of experience in education, service, program development, strategic planning, organizational growth and team building.

Prior to joining Oasis, Paul served as the senior athletic director at George School in Newtown, Pennsylvania, where he oversaw the opening and programming of multi-million-dollar, state-of- the-art fitness and athletic center. Paul also led a two-year strategic planning initiative that resulted in a new merit-aid system for athletes and other talented prospective students.

Paul came to Newtown having served as chief program officer at Asphalt Green, a sports and fitness-focused non-profit organization in New York City. During his 12-year tenure, annual program revenue and community programs tripled in scope. While at Asphalt Green, Paul developed an evidence-based senior fitness curriculum for the New York City Department of Aging. To implement the program, Paul and his team trained more than 250 senior volunteer peer-instructors. The curriculum included senior exercise training manuals and at-home books that are still used throughout the city in over 100 senior centers.
