The Intergenerational Affinity Group is a self-driven forum of the Encore Network, composed of Network members dedicated to linking the generations to create a better future for all. We will gather regularly to share experiences, learn together and advocate together. We will take on a small number of relevant projects as merited.
The National Council on Aging defines “intergenerational programs”as “activities or programs that increase cooperation, interaction or exchange between any two (or more) generations. They involve the sharing of skills, knowledge, or experience between old and young.”
Intergenerational Affinity Group meets the second Tuesday of the month for an hour starting at 12:30 PM ET and is chaired by Clint Wilkins.
Membership 101 – Organized and led by the Membership Committee to welcome, engage and introduce new members to the network.
Free and Discounted Assess to Programs – The Encore Network offers a wide array of programs through the year. Typically led or organized by members of the Program Committee these programs are targeted topis of broad interest, featuring network members. These programs are free or offered at a reduced rate to members. Guests pay a higher fee to participate.
Affinity Group Participation – Member-driven groups, launched for the specific purpose of deeper learning, sharing and connection around a topic of common interest. Intergenerational collaboration, fostering a positive work environment for people 50+, and creating a more inclusive network are just a few examples of these ongoing groups. Find other members and take a deeper dive into shared interests.
Coffee Chats – Periodic events for members, featuring speakers and topics proposed by members and aligned with the Encore Network mission. Typically organized and led by a network member or group of members.
Member Directory – Members can find each other directly via the website directory that includes contact information.
Promotion of Your Programs – Post and promote your personal or organization’s programs on the Encore Network website furthering the reach and impact of your programs.
Name, logo, and program description featured on the Encore Network website- Show your support for the encore movement and enhance the visibility of your program at the same time.
Number of Member Accounts – An additional two or four members of your organization can be included in your membership and take advantage of all benefits associated with your level adding value to your organization and the encore movement worldwide.
