Advocacy, Policy, Narrative Change
Changing the Narrative is the leading effort in the U.S. to change the way people think, talk and act about aging and ageism through evidence-based strategies and innovative public campaigns. Our end game? To end ageism.
Janine Vanderburg leads Changing the Narrative, a campaign to change the way people think, talk and act about aging and ageism and has been trained by Frameworks Institute in Reframing Aging. She chairs the Encore Network, a global coalition of leaders who champion the civic, social, and economic contributions of people 50+, is an Encore Public Voices Fellow, a board member of the Women’s Lobby of Colorado and a board member of the Center for Workforce Inclusion Lab. Currently a resident of Colorado’s North Fork Valley, she is a former member of the Denver Commission on Aging, winning the Mayor’s Diversity and Inclusion Award for her advocacy of older adults.
My favorite saying is that of civil rights activist Grace Lee Boggs: “We are the leaders we’ve been waiting for.”
I am very interested in connecting with Encore Network members who are interested in movement building, and public policy advocacy.
